Story Writing Challenge

Four Categories. One Challenge.
Endless Imagination.

Every age group gets its own prompt, its own word limit, and its own world to imagine into being. Pick your category and start writing.

Category I 400–600 words
Ages 8–10
“The Day My Shadow Disappeared”

One morning, you discover that your shadow has completely disappeared. Where has it gone? Can you find it? What happens during your search?

Category II 600–800 words
Ages 11–13
“The Secret Door in My School”

You discover a mysterious door in your school that nobody seems to know about. Where does it lead? What do you discover behind it? And why has the door remained a secret?

Category III 800–1,000 words
Ages 14–16
“The World Forgot How to Dream”

One morning, people everywhere suddenly lose the ability to imagine, create, and dream. You are one of the few people who can still dream. What happens next?

Category IV 1,000–1,500 words
Ages 17–18
“The Choice That Changed Tomorrow”

You are given an opportunity to make one decision that could change the future of your community, your country, or even the world. But every choice has consequences. What do you choose?

There is no fixed theme. Turn your thoughts, feelings, dreams, and imagination into poetry — in your own unique style, in English or Hindi.

Guidelines
Must be original and written entirely by the participant
No fixed theme — write on any topic you choose
Keep it positive, creative, inspiring and age-appropriate
Maximum length: 40 lines, in English or Hindi
No hatred, discrimination, violence or negativity
No political content or commentary of any kind
Must not target, mock or insult any person, group or institution
Plagiarized, copied, AI-generated or previously published entries may be disqualified

How to Submit Your Entry

Entries are submitted online as a single MS Word document, once per student.

Individual Participants

Students should submit their entries individually through the submission form, as a single MS Word document.

School Coordinators

Please upload a list of participating students from your school, and encourage each student to complete the form and submit individually.
